Rotary Club Recognizes Scholarship Recipients, Career Center (w/PHOTOS)

The Rotary Club of Princeton presented three scholarships to graduating seniors, along with a donation to the Caldwell Regional Career Center, at Tuesday’s meeting.

Three graduating seniors and their families, together with Principal Tim Bush and three Career Center students who participated in the SkillsUSA competition, accompanied by their families, attended Tuesday’s meeting at the Majestic House restaurant.

Rotarian Laura Klubert congratulated all the students and shared that the celebration of the scholarship recipients is “truly” one of her favorite days of the year. She noted they received 23 scholarship applications, all submitted anonymously, with personal information removed before the selection of the three recipients.

click to download audioShe introduced the three recipients, Madison French, Aliya Towns, and Lainey Beshear, who each received $1,000 and were invited to stand and introduce both their guests and share their post-graduation plans.

Towns said she is planning to attend Western Kentucky University.

click to download audioThe Career Center students also discussed some of the projects they have completed, and Principal Bush announced that Alexander and Suits have signed with a carpenters’ union in Paducah.

Following the presentations, Klubert presented a $2,000 check to the Caldwell Regional Career Center from the Rotary Club to support students taking part in the SkillsUSA competition.
