The Princeton Golf Club’s Ladies League is getting ready for the second annual Emma Talley Invitational, a women’s golf tournament honoring the Princeton native and former professional golfer.
Brittany Gates says the tournament was created as a way to recognize Talley’s local roots and her career in golf.
click to download audioThe tournament will be held Saturday, July 18th, at Princeton Golf Club, with tee time set for 9:00 that morning.
Gates says it will be a four-lady scramble, followed by lunch, raffle items, giveaways, and a visit from Talley.
Players do not have to be members of Princeton Golf Club to take part, and Gates says the tournament is meant to be welcoming, even for women who may not play often.
click to download audioGates says players can begin arriving between 8:00 and 8:30 Saturday morning to check in, get registered for giveaway items, and take part in the split-the-pot drawing before play begins.
She says registration remains open for a few more days, and players have several payment options.
click to download audioAccording to Gates, cart rentals are available, which is one reason organizers are asking players to register in advance when possible.
Teams may pay together or individually. And for anyone who wants to play but does not have a full four-person team, Gates says the Ladies League can help connect players.

Gates says the Ladies League meets each week, with casual play and fellowship built into the schedule.
