The Jake Hodge Wiffle Ball Tournament will return to Princeton this year, after organizers were unsure whether the event would continue at its longtime location.
Denis Hodge with the Jake Hodge Foundation says organizers expected the tournament to take a new direction after Ken and Katie Parker sold the property last year, but the new owners offered to continue hosting the event.
click to download audioHe says the tournament remains centered on supporting students through the Jake Hodge Foundation, which is a scholarship-based program that handed out about $28,000 in scholarships this year to students in Caldwell, Crittenden, Livingston, Lyon, and Trigg counties.
The tournament will be played on Friday, July 31st, and Saturday, August 1st.
Play is expected to begin around 5:00 Friday afternoon, then resume around 9:00 Saturday morning and continue into late Saturday afternoon.
Hodge says participation remains strong, even after uncertainty surrounding this year’s tournament.
