Unconscious Man In Vehicle Leads To Four Arrests In Providence

Police say a call about an unconscious man in a vehicle led to the arrests of four people after meth, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found during a search at a Providence home with three children inside Wednesday afternoon.
Providence Police Sergeant Carl Scheer, Officer Eric Elder, and Chief Todd Jones responded to the call around 3:40 p.m. at 1204 Leeper Lane and reportedly found 40-year old Michael Vaughn inside the vehicle, barely breathing and with a faint pulse. Police said after they discovered pill bottles inside the vehicle, they administered NARCAN and Vaughn regained consciousness and was evaluated by Providence EMS. Police then spoke with his girlfriend, 39-year old Sherri Ashlock, who they said appeared impaired and told officers Vaughn was only sleeping. Officers said they also found suspected meth, a glass meth pipe and syringe in the vehicle.

Officers then reportedly obtained a search warrant for the residence and discovered three children inside ranging in age from 1 to 13-years old. Police said they also found 35-year old Darrick Davis and 30-year old Amber Vincent living in the front of the home, who indicated they had been homeless. Inside the residence, officers said they discovered additional meth, pipes, bongs, marijuana, syringes, and a variety of other paraphernalia.

All four subjects were taken into custody and charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (meth) and possession of drug paraphernalia. In addition, Vincent and Davis were charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Vaughn was additionally charged with second-degree possession of a controlled substance (Amphetamine), a prescription controlled substance not in a proper container, and Ashlock was also charged with second-degree criminal simulation. Both Vaughn and Ashlock were charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.

Police indicate Social Services responded to the home and took custody of all three children.
According to police, Ashlock is currently out of jail on bond for meth possession charges in Webster County, while Vaughn is out of jail on bond for theft-related charges in Union County. Police also reported Davis has a history of drug-related charges and Vincent is already a convicted felon for theft and fraud-related crimes.
