The owners of a local funeral home were recently acknowledged by Kentucky’s governor for providing outstanding service after the December tornadoes.
Brian and Jenna Wainer were recognized by Governor Andy Beshear at the Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky Convention for Morgan’s exemplary service to families affected by the devastating tornadoes. The Wainers were the only funeral directors in Kentucky to lose their home in the deadly storms.
The couple owns Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton and Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville.
According to Morgan Funeral Home webpage, Robert Morgan entered the furniture and undertaking business under the name of Princeton Furniture and Undertaking Company in 1906 at 219 West Main Street in Princeton.
After a couple of relocations, the funeral home moved to its present location at 301 West Washington Street in 1965, In 1969, Morgan sold the furniture business to devote all efforts to serving Princeton through the funeral home.
Robert Morgan died in 1945, and the business was operated by family members until 110 years later when they chose Brian and Jenna Orr Wainer to carry on the Morgan’s tradition as the new owners of Morgan’s and Lakeland Funeral Homes.  The couple serves the families of Caldwell, Lyon and surrounding counties. Jenna is reportedly is the seventh generation in her family to own funeral homes, dating back over 150 years.
