Abatement Underway at Butler Annex

If you’ve driven down West Washington Street recently, you may have noticed that the abatement process has commenced at the Caldwell County Schools’ Butler Annex building.

During an October 2024 meeting, the school board approved the abatement and demolition project, awarding a bid of nearly $260,000 to IMAC in Calvert City for the Butler Annex abatement.

Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Roach updated the board on the Butler Annex abatement at a working session of the Caldwell County Board of Education Tuesday night. He said that the abatement process is expected to be completed in approximately eight weeks, after which the building will be demolished.
