After three special called meetings, the Princeton-Caldwell County City-County Park Board has finalized the location for the new playground.
During a meeting last Wednesday afternoon at the park pavilion, the board voted 5-1 to place the playground between the pavilion and the swimming pool/bathhouse area. Board member Chad Childress opposed this location, advocating instead for the playground to be situated between the front parking lot and the swimming pool entrance.
Park Director Elizabeth Kings said that the new playground will be situated in front of the pavilion, basically where the previous playground was located.

During the meeting, the Board also unanimously approved a resolution presented by Princeton Mayor and City-County Park Board Chairman Brock Thomas to apply for an Angeline Henry Grant for infrastructure improvements.

King informed WPKY’s News Edge that the park’s swimming pool is scheduled to open this Memorial Day weekend, with the new playground to open later this summer.

King also expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming summer season at the park.
click to download audioKing mentioned that the pickleball court lights are now operational and can be controlled by users on the courts, thanks to the installation of on and off buttons on the exterior of the electrical box. However, she noted that while the basketball court lights are functional, they can currently only be turned on by her.
