Ronald “R.D.” Capps, age 89 of Princeton, died Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at the Princeton Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born the son of the late Garland Capps and Evelyn Parker Capps. He enjoyed spending time fishing and hunting, where his love for the outdoors allowed him to be where he loved to be. You could sometimes find him enjoying one of the many westerns he loved. It didn’t matter if it was a John Wayne movie or an Audie Murphy movie; he loved them all. He played some softball back in his younger years also. He and Dotty enjoyed traveling and made a couple of trips to many different western states. He spent most of his adult life as a farmer, and he was a member of Cedar Bluff Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be Monday, June 9, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Poole Cemetery with Bro. J.D. Hunt officiating. There is no visitation scheduled. Goodman Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Capps family.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years: Dotty Capps of Princeton; his son: John Capps (Elizabeth) of Princeton; his brothers: Roy Capps (Carolyn) of Princeton, and Gerald Capps of Charlotte, Tennessee; his six grandchildren: Evan Capps of Clarksville, Tennessee, Sam Capps of Princeton, Lauren Ackenson (Margo) of Hopkinsville, Andrew Webster (Tiffany) of Hartford, Kentucky, Cole Webster (Delaney) of Kansas City, Missouri, and Bailey Webster of Fredonia; and his 10 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Larry Dean Capps; his brother, Harold Capps; his sister, Helen Cotton; and his grandson, Lathan Capps.
