Monday night’s Caldwell County Board of Education meeting featured the official swearing-in of a new student representative, alongside the approval of a Capital Funds request for the middle school renovation project.
LeAnne Orange, who serves as secretary to the superintendent, administered the Oath of Office to Kailey Adamson. Board Chair Tim Kennaday welcomed Adamson to the board and explained her responsibilities as a student representative.
click to download audioAt the meeting, the board’s first action was to officially declare the 2025 graduating class of Caldwell County High School, which was unanimously approved.

The board approved insurance policies for the 2025-2026 year with Higgins Insurance, Goodwin Insurance, and KEMI Insurance. Lee Conrad of Higgins Insurance was at the meeting as Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Roach explained the policies.

In other business, the board gave approval for a Capital Fund request of about $337,680 for the BG-1 for the middle school renovation project.
click to download audioDr. Roach noted that the current phase of the middle school renovation project involves waiting for the construction manager to return cost estimates on the design development drawings, which are expected to be completed within the next month.
The board then went into executive session with no action taken.
The next regular meeting of the Caldwell County School Board will be at 6:00 p.m., Monday, July 21.
