At the recent Princeton City Council meeting, council board appointments shared updates on electric and water utility projects and the local airport.
Councilwoman Pat George, who serves on the Princeton Water and Wastewater Commission, shared updates from the June meeting, including progress on the Linton Hill project and the installation of new water meters.
click to download audioShe also reported that the damage at the West Water Treatment facility has been submitted to the Division of Water in Frankfort for review.
She said that a $4.6 million budget was approved by the Princeton Water & Wastewater Commission for fiscal year 2026, along with an increase in sewage rates.
click to download audioMeanwhile, Councilman Jim Joiner, who serves on the Princeton Electric Plant Board, shared information about electric generation at the Prairie State Campus for April and May.
click to download audioHe noted that the Board has requested quotes for a new bucket truck, which are expected to be received by their next meeting.

Joiner, who also serves on the Princeton-Caldwell County Airport Board, stated that concrete work began Monday, July 7, for the new 10-unit T-hangar building.
He also mentioned that the lights at the airport were recently damaged by lightning.

The Princeton City Council will meet at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Among the new business on the agenda is the first reading of an ordinance addressing special-purpose vehicles
