Princeton City Council Hears Infrastructure Updates

City Council representatives on local boards provided updates from the Princeton Electric Plant Board, the Princeton-Caldwell County Airport Board, and the Princeton Water and Wastewater Commission at Monday night’s meeting.

Councilwoman Pat George, a member of the Princeton Water and Wastewater Commission, reported that fiscal year 2024 ended strong for the utility. She also noted several ongoing projects have been completed recently, with much of the work being handled in house.

She noted that they are still waiting on the design and plan for the Wastewater Treatment project as of last week. George also reported that 1,617 meters have been replaced and mentioned the recent rate increase.

click to download audioDuring his update, Councilman Jim Joiner, who serves on the Princeton Electric Plant Board, announced that the board approved a resolution related to a Delta Regional Authority grant.

click to download audioJoiner, who also serves on the Princeton-Caldwell County Airport Board, reported that the total concrete pour was finished on Tuesday, and materials for the new t-hangar were scheduled to be delivered on Wednesday, involving three semi-trucks.

Mayor Brock Thomas said he visited the airport the previous week and remarked that it looks “very good.”
