Janice Faye Vinson Burkhart, age 81, of Hopkinsville, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at her home from natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with burial to follow in Rowland Cemetery in Fredonia. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, the evening before the funeral. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Janice was born in Princeton, KY, on May 27, 1944, the daughter of the late Raymon and Hazel Booker Vinson. She retired from the Civil Service as a Budget Analyst. She attended First Baptist Church and was a member of Hilldale Baptist Church in Clarksville. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Paul F. Burkhart, in 2024; her daughter, Tracey Jeanette Pugh; her brother, Jerry Vinson; and her sister, Jewel Tooley.
Survivors include her son, Todd Pugh (Deanna Jackson) of Hopkinsville; her daughter, Heather Michelle Pugh Thornell (Mick) of Elkton, KY; her sisters, Kathleen Oliver of Princeton, KY, and Jane (Jim) Dorroh of Princeton, KY; her four grandchildren, Barry Wayne Stewart, William Ellis Stewart, Jr., Michaela Grace Stewart, Harley Paige Pugh; and her eight great grandchildren.
In place of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the American Heart Association.
