A Princeton man was charged with fleeing from police over the weekend.

Assistant Princeton Police Chief Shane Allison reports officers initiated a traffic stop on North Seminary Street that failed to use a turn signal while turning from South Jefferson Street onto West Washington Street shortly before 8:30 Sunday morning.

Officers said the driver, later identified as 60-year-old Donnie Riley, did not stop and continued to drive, turning down multiple streets before eventually stopping at the corner of North Seminary Street and Calvert Street.

Upon contact with Riley, police said a records check indicated that his driver’s license was suspended.

Riley was taken into custody and charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, possession of an open alcohol container in a motor vehicle, operating on a suspended license, and no insurance. He was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
