Caldwell County Elementary Students Honor Veterans (w/PHOTOS)

The annual Veterans Day Program and recognition at the Caldwell County Elementary School was held Tuesday morning in the school gym.

The 5th-grade students prepare and present a program for any veterans that attend, which includes special music, historical dates and facts, and information about military service. There is also a slide show containing pictures of family and friends of the elementary students and staff. After the program, a breakfast is served in the school cafeteria for any student and veteran family member who has signed up to participate. The entire student body at the elementary school, plus veterans and family members, attends the program.

Special guest speakers for the program were married veteran couple Andrew Lane and Jennifer Martin Lane, who have a son in the 5th grade at the school. Andrew said he had served in the Army for over half of his life.
