Richard Earl Eaves, age 73, of Princeton, passed away November 17, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, quiet creativity, and a deep love for music.
Richard was born January 12, 1952, to the late Noble Ray and Neva Gray Piper Eaves. For 30 years, he worked in the sawmill, a place where his dedication was unmatched-missing only ten days throughout his entire career. His reliability and strong work ethic earned the respect of all who worked beside him. Outside of work, Richard found joy in his music. A talented guitarist and banjo player, he had the honor of playing alongside several well-known musicians from Nashville. He often filled his home with melodies he crafted himself, turning the tunes in his head into songs that reflected his gentle spirit and imaginative mind.
He is survived by two daughters, Angela Pople of Nevada and Carmen Smith of Mississippi; one son, Jeremy Ray Eaves of Indiana; one step-daughter, Shannon Anderson of Kentucky; two step-sons, Robert Ford and Howie Ford both of Kentucky; one brother, Larry Eaves of Central City; two sisters, Regina Wolcott of Muhlenberg County and Louise (Shelby) Wilson of Muhlenberg County; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Linda Lee Taylor Eaves; sister, Wilma Piper; and brother, Everett Eaves.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Morgan’s Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Morgan’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
