Authorities report that a deer crossing the road led to a single-vehicle crash with injuries last week in Caldwell County.
Caldwell County Sheriff Don Weedman said the wreck happened Friday, November 28, when 27-year-old Destiny Copeland of Princeton was driving north on Kentucky 293 North when, near the intersection of Kentucky 70, a deer entered the road. In an attempt to avoid the deer, deputies reported that Copeland swerved, causing the vehicle to leave the road, travel through an open field, and hit an earth embankment before stopping.
Deputies reported that Copeland’s passengers were injured in the wreck and taken to Caldwell Medical Center for treatment.
The Princeton Fire Department and AmeriPro provided deputies with assistance at the scene.
