Kentucky State Police are asking for help finding a Webster County man accused of making a false 911 call that sparked a large emergency response last month.

According to Post 2 in Madisonville, they are searching for 32-year-old Bobby Wayne Sample after a 911 incident that occurred on November 19, when Webster County Central Dispatch received a call of someone being involved in a UTV accident and pinned underneath it.

Authorities say that more than 20 agencies from surrounding counties responded, utilizing emergency equipment to locate the caller over a 24-hour period.

Investigators report that Sample has known ties to Webster, Hopkins, Crittenden, Caldwell, Henderson, and McLean counties.

Sample is described as a white male, 5’10”, 175 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information about Sample’s whereabouts is urged to contact Post 2 at (270) 676-3313. Police say all tips will be kept confidential.
