‘Best Of Western Kentucky’ Brings Community Into Focus

The 11th Year for Edge Media Group’s “Best of Western Kentucky” honors began Monday morning, when the nomination process officially opened online.

Becky Williamson, digital director of business development, said residents in the News Edge listening area should show their love and support of local businesses, doctors and places that are appreciated year-round — because after all these years, the nomination and an eventual award matter.

There are nine overall categories and more than 100 subcategories for nuanced nominations, and Williamson noted this period will last until January 11.

Following a brief “dead period,” voting begins January 26 and runs until February 8, with winners being announced February 10.

Williamson also noted that folks and franchises shouldn’t be bashful.

Everyone that gets nominated is automatically placed on the ballot, free of charge, and Williamson noted that further advertising then allows for those nominated to tell a larger story.

Williamson couldn’t stress enough the importance of these honors — especially after last year’s decade-long celebrations, in which some companies could boast 10-straight wins.

When the voting process begins in four weeks, Williamson added that one email address has one vote, so the voting maintains integrity.

She also credited Edge Media Group’s Kyle Rader with the process that’s now in place.

Nomination options can be found at both wkdzradio.com and bestofwesternkentucky.com.
