Emily Jane Harmon, born on October 27, 1946, in Princeton, Kentucky, passed away on December 26, 2025, at the Caldwell County Medical Center.
A dedicated and hardworking woman, Emily spent her early career as a beautician during the 1960s and 1970s, showcasing her strong work ethic and determination. She later retired from Walmart after over 20 years of service, during which she held several job titles and notably worked hard to prevent shoplifting. Prior to her time at Walmart, Emily made her mark as a foreman and heavy equipment operator, further illustrating her resilience and ability to excel in a variety of roles.
Emily was known for her love of family, with her proudest accomplishments stemming from the joy she found in her loved ones.
She is survived by her daughter, Mechall Harmon of Princeton, her son, James Edwards Harmon Jr. (Carrie Ann) of Princeton, her daughters, Frances Harmon (Tim Smith) of Alabama, and Helen Nadine Lee (Lavon, Sr.) of Eddyville.
Her legacy continues through her grandchildren LeAnne Dorcinvil (Loodger), Hope Robinson, Leslie Harmon, Beau Robert Lewis Harmon, Donnie Point, Carrie Ann Ruth Harmon, John Morton, Lonnie Lee Jr., Xzavier Lee, Jesse Lee, and great-grandchildren Ismiana McCall, Briana McCall, Emily Holloway, Braneecya Scott, Lai` Leigh Dorcinvil, Paige Dorcinvil, Johnathan Lopez Jr., Jahsani Williams, Ja`Niya Williams, Jeffrey Williams, Jazmin Williams, Justice Williams, Kody Williams, Acillia Roberts, Charles Roberts Jr. Destinee Roberts, Charles Roberts III, Jordyn Green, Maliche Harmon, Chimela Lipson, Michael Lipson, Jr, Analia Wilson, Amara Morton, Athena George, Ceanna Sapp and great-great grandchildren Lai`Lani McCall, Ka`Manii Paul, Malaya Jackson, and Braylen Baker who brought her immense joy.
Outside of her professional life, Emily cherished simple pleasures. She loved observing guineas and chickens in her yard, and her favorite flower was the carnation, though she humorously acknowledged her lack of a green thumb. Emily was also an avid sports fan—her enthusiasm for football and NASCAR racing was unmatched. In her later years, she kept herself entertained by playing games on her phone. Additionally, fond memories of skiing on Lake Barkley during her younger days brought a smile to her face.
Emily was preceded in death by her parents, Owen & Frances Thomas, and husband, James Edward Harmon, and one grandson, Tucker Chase Harmon.
Family and friends are invited to honor Emily's memory at Goodman Funeral Home, located at 1032 West Main St, Princeton, Kentucky. A visitation will take place on January 3, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Graveside service to follow at Blue Springs Church Cemetery.
Emily Jane Harmon leaves behind a rich legacy of love, strength, and dedication. She will be deeply missed by all who have the pleasure of knowing her.
