The Caldwell County Grand Jury issued three felony indictments and one “no true bill” from its January session.

A true bill was returned on Tyler Masse of Paducah on charges of fourth-degree assault, violation of a Kentucky EPO/DVO, second-degree burglary, first-degree attempted rape, and first-degree strangulation.

Masse was taken into custody by Princeton Police on the morning of November 23 after officers were sent to the area of Hillview Court regarding an emergency protection order violation. When officers arrived, they said Masse was walking away from the area, but was within 500 feet of the protected residence and person.

Police said the woman reported that Masse broke in through the home’s back door and started assaulting and strangling her. Police said she also alleged that Masse attempted to rape her during the incident.

Isaiah Demarcus Boyd of Princeton was indicted on charges of second-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking under $500, fourth-degree assault, third-degree terroristic threatening, and violation of conditions of release.

The charges are from November 25, when Princeton Police officers were sent to the area of Violet Loop regarding a domestic assault incident and found Boyd leaving an apartment when they arrived.

Police said the female victim reported that Boyd struck her during an argument and threatened to kill her. Police said that a further investigation revealed that Boyd had stolen a key to unlawfully enter the residence and commit the assault. He was taken into custody and lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.

After reviewing the menacing charge filed against Boyd in connection with the incident, the grand jury returned a no true bill, and the charge was dismissed.

Terry Jewell, whose address is listed as unknown, was indicted for failure to comply with the sex offender registration – subsequent offense.

Jewell was arrested by Princeton Police on Saturday, November 22, at a residence near the 200 block of North Eagle after authorities said he had previously been warned on November 18th to update his registration to remain in compliance.
