Ernest Werley, 71, of Princeton

Ernest Michael Werley, 71, of Princeton, passed away to his heavenly home on Thursday, January 22, 2026.

He was born on June 7, 1954, in Alice, Texas, to the late Ernest Leonard Werley and the late Edith Irene Werley.

He was also preceded in death by his sister, Cindy; his brother, Leonard Matthew Werley; his nephew, Anthony Werley; and his son-in-law, Tim Polly.

Ernest was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served during the Vietnam War as a Sergeant. He was also a CDL truck driver. He was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and a member of the Parkway Saddle Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, making walking canes to spread the Gospel through missionaries, woodworking, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid lover of music and spent his time learning how to play every instrument he could get his hands on.

He is survived by his loving wife, Robbie Werley; His daughters, Michelle (Perry) Cate, Brandy (Dennis) Hartin; and Stacey Polley; his stepchildren, Kassie Duncan and Gavin Robinson; his brother, Mark Anthony (Tena) Werley; Eight grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, January 29, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Madisonville with the Bishop of the church officiating. Cremation will follow.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home and Crematory.
