Authorities say a complaint from a local utility provider led to the arrest of a Kuttawa man on a weapon charge Friday.
Lyon County Sheriff Brent White reports that just before 9:30 a.m. Friday, deputies responded to Dustin Road after utility workers were checking a meter and saw a man come out of the home with a firearm, who rode away on an ATV. He says that out of an abundance of caution, the utility company contacted law enforcement for assistance.
According to Sheriff White, deputies found 40-year-old Jacob Weaver, formerly of Grand Rivers, and a further investigation revealed he was a convicted felon in possession of a handgun.
Weaver was taken into custody and charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. He was lodged in the Crittenden County Jail.
