The Rotary Club of Princeton is inviting area high school students to participate in the 2026 Rotary Student Speech Contest, scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, at noon, at the Majestic House Restaurant on US Highway 62 West.
According to the co-organizer of the Speech Contest, Dr. Melissa Earnest, this year’s speech topic is “Service to Others Brings Happiness.” She says students will prepare and deliver an original speech exploring how serving others contributes to joy, purpose, and strong communities.
The contest is open to all high school students in grades 9 through 12, including public, private, and home-schooled students. To participate, students must complete both a registration form and a media release form.
Earnest says cash prizes will be awarded to the top speakers: First Place – $300, Second Place – $200, and Third Place – $100.
She says the Rotary Speech Contest encourages students to develop confidence, communication skills, and leadership while reflecting on Rotary’s core value of Service Above Self.
