The Caldwell County Fiscal Court on Tuesday heard an update about the grant process for a new sidewalk and approved an architectural engineering services contract for the proposed new judicial center, along with an application for grant funding for a new industrial site in the Industrial Park.
During Judge-Executive Kota Young’s comments, he announced that all required documents have been successfully submitted for the Transportation Alternatives Program grant, which will support the sidewalk project along US 62 West.
click to download audioIn new business, magistrates gave their approval to a contract for architectural and engineering services with Sherman Carter Barnhart Architects, the firm previously chosen by the Caldwell County Project Development Board for the proposed new judicial center.
click to download audioYoung also introduced a resolution authorizing an application to the Kentucky Product Development Initiative Program for the Princeton-Caldwell County Industrial Development Authority Tract Number 5, a collaborative project between the City of Princeton and the Fiscal Court.
The court unanimously approved this resolution, as well as another measure to designate surplus materials from the road department and shelter as scrap.
During his report, Caldwell County Emergency Management Director Joey McCaslin explained that they are continuing to have problems with the generator at the vocational school tower site and requested the Fiscal Court’s approval to purchase a new generator at a cost of $8,500.
