Caldwell School Board Hears Update on Transportation and Facilities

Members of the Caldwell County Board of Education received an update on transportation and facilities during their recent meeting.

Facilities and Transportation Director Dustin Cash opened his update by noting that two new buses, originally expected to arrive around Christmas, were delayed because of mechanical issues.

click to download audioHe said the roster of bus drivers is currently filled, with one substitute driver available.

click to download audioCash then addressed grounds and facilities, sharing that preparations are in progress to get the fields ready for spring sports.

click to download audioHe also recognized and thanked the school district’s custodians for their hard work.

click to download audioSince the Board meeting was held at the middle school, the Junior Beta Club had the opportunity to present highlights from the State Convention in Lexington and shared that its members have completed 659 hours of community service so far this year.

The Board also acknowledged the achievements of several students and athletes and presented the Impact Award to elementary school principal Phillip Noel.

With no action items on the agenda for the second month in a row, the Board heard updates on middle school activities from Principal Pollyanne Kimmel and received a special education report from Director Kelly Byrd.
