Caldwell County Sheriff Warns of Surge in Scam Activity

Residents are being urged to stay vigilant as law enforcement officials in Caldwell County raise concerns about a rise in scam activity targeting the community.

At a special-called Fiscal Court meeting Friday morning, Sheriff Don Weedman explained that you can identify scam text messages by the unusual or suspicious wording they use.

Judge-Executive Kota Young and Sheriff Weedman both stressed the importance of calling to verify before clicking on any links or responding to suspicious text messages.

Officials remind everyone to stay alert and report any suspicious messages to local authorities to help protect the community from scams.
