Ronie Berry, 79, of Princeton

Ronie Herrell Berry, passed away on April 24, 2026, at Baptist Health Deaconess of Madisonville. He was born on April 5, 1947, in Arkansas.

Ronie was the husband of Lucinda “Lisa” Kennaday Berry for 29 years. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Jessica, and her husband, Bradley Ashby, of Madisonville, Kentucky. He also shared his home and heart with his cherished cat, Lil Bit, who brought him comfort and companionship. Those who knew Ronie will remember him as an intelligent man whose steady presence and thoughtful nature left a lasting impression on everyone around him.

Ronie dedicated 25 years of honorable service to the United States Air Force, where he served as a Staff Sergeant during the Vietnam era. His military career reflected his deep sense of duty, discipline, and commitment to something greater than himself. After his years in uniform, he continued a life of public service by working for the Department of Corrections in South Carolina, where he carried the same integrity and professionalism that had long defined him.

In recognition of his courage and dedication, Ronie received the Medal of Valor from the American Corrections Associations in 1999. This distinguished honor stood as a testament to his bravery and the respect he earned through his actions and character.

Ronie was also a graduate of Los Angeles Community College. He was a member of Ogden United Memorial Methodist Church.

His life was one of service to his country, commitment to his family, and steadfast dedication to the values he held dear. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will remain a blessing to those who loved him and to all whose lives were touched by his presence.

Memorial visitation will be from 11:00 to 1:00 PM Monday, April 27, 2026, at Morgan’s Funeral Home.

Memorial services will be held Monday, April 27, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Morgan’s Funeral Home with James “Bridgie” Miller officiating.
