Funeral services for Mildred Thorp Beck, age 85, of Lyon County, will be held Saturday afternoon at two at Morgan’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow in New Bethel Cemetery in Lyon County.
Visitation will be held Saturday from noon until service time at the funeral home.
Mildred was a homemaker and a self-employed business owner. She was of the Pentecostal faith, pioneered many churches with her husband, was known for her love of gospel music, and was a noted performer with the Chuck Wagon Gang, Dottie Rambo, Wendy Bagwell and others.
Survivors include one daughter: Paula Martin of Murray; two sons: Tim Beck of Lyon County and David S. Beck and wife, Nancy, of Louisville; eight grandchildren: Matthew Beck and wife, Caitlin, of Jeffersonville, IN, Allison Dudgeon and husband, Matthew, of Jacksonville, FL, Natalie Raines and husband, Andrew, of Louisville, Ricky Martin and wife, Ashley, of Savannah, GA, Kenny Martin and wife, Leann, of Henderson, Jacob Martin and wife, Tiffany, of Almo, Patrick Martin of Murray, Joey Martin and wife, Cheyenne, of Aurora; nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Charitable contributions may be made in Mildred’s memory to New Bethel Cemetery, c/o Rodney White in Eddyville.
