Lyon Sheriff’s Office Presents Large Donation To Boys & Girls Ranch

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office recently made a large fundraiser donation to the Kentucky Sheriffs’ Association for the Boys and Girls Ranch.
According the association’s website, Sheriff Brent White presented Executive Director and retired sheriff Jerry Wagner with a $30,000 donation for renovation of the bunkhouses at the Boys and Girls Ranch. The money was reportedly raised from the Kuttawa Cannonball Run speedboat race event held in Lyon County on Lake Barkley in June.
The Boys & Girls Ranch in Gilbertsville is for underprivileged children ages 8 to 11 who cannot afford to attend a summer camp. The Boys and Girls Ranch strives to build the children’s self-esteem, moral character and to teach them respect for themselves, others and law enforcement professionals. The camps are held in the months of June and July.
Sheriff White said in a post on social media “all the credit for this donation goes to the organizers and donors of the charity auction in conjunction with the 2021 Kuttawa Cannonball Run event led by Mr. Jeff Hoefling and crew, along with Hu-B’s Marina at Kuttawa Harbor. Many thanks for their generosity!”
