Man Charged With 2nd DUI After Princeton Wreck

A Madisonville man was arrested for his second DUI after an injury wreck in Princeton Wednesday night.
Princeton Assistant Police Chief Shane Allison reports officers responded to the collision shortly before 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of South Jefferson Street and Edwards Avenue.
According to an investigation, 21-year old Tyriek Palmer of Madisonville was traveling north on South Jefferson Street and turned left at Edwards Avenue in front of a southbound car driven by 28-year old Ashley Coleman of Princeton. Allison says Coleman’s car struck the passenger side of Palmer’s vehicle, causing moderate to severe damage to both vehicles.
Assistant Chief Allison says a passenger in Palmer’s vehicle, 20-year old Jeila Fitzgerald of Madisonville was transported by Caldwell County EMS to Caldwell County Hospital for possible injuries.
He says Palmer was taken into custody after a further investigation determined he was driving under the influence of intoxicating substances.
Palmer was charged with DUI 2nd offense, driving on a DUI suspended license, no insurance, and possession of marijuana.
Officers were assisted on the scene by Caldwell County EMS and Princeton Fire Department.
