Intense rainfall and thunderstorms sweeping through the area are causing some widespread flooding issues across Caldwell and Lyon counties.
As of Friday, Princeton Public Works Superintendent Chris Pool is reporting the following roads streets are closed in the city due to flooding:
- Faith Avenue
- Varmint Trace Road
- 900 block of Mechanic Street
- Cox Street
- Downs Street
- South Seminary Street (currently pumping)
Pool reassures Princeton residents that they are making every effort to identify and resolve the flooding issues. However, he notes that the flooded areas are likely to remain submerged for an extended period, as there is currently no place for the excess water to be redirected or pumped. He advises residents to stay home and encourages them to report road debris by calling the non-emergency Dispatch number at 270-365-7860. For emergencies, residents should dial 911.
