The Caldwell County Fiscal Court approved the property tax settlement for calendar year 2024 at last week’s meeting, with one magistrate explaining how collected funds are distributed.
The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office reported that more than $5.9 million in property taxes was collected, achieving right at a 97-percent collection rate.
District 4 Magistrate Jeff Simms provided a breakdown of the total amount collected, which was about $5,917,012, noting that he’s frequently asked where the money goes.
