Gov. Beshear, Hope Initiative Dedicate New Princeton Home to Tornado Survivor (w/PHOTOS)

It was a day of joy and celebration in Princeton on Tuesday as hope returned to one local family who lost their home in the devastating December 2021 tornado.

Governor Andy Beshear, local officials, and members of The Hope Initiative gathered at 303 Leech Street in Princeton to celebrate a new beginning for Susan McIntosh and her children, with the dedication of a new home.

Princeton Mayor Brock Thomas welcomed everyone to the new home, expressing his appreciation for those attending what he called an “amazing event,” and highlighting the many community partners involved in the project.

click to download audioAfter Mayor Thomas spoke, Gov. Beshear took the podium and shared that Team Kentucky has been working since December 2021 to rebuild, and this new home represents another step forward in that effort.

Rev. Stephen Boyken, lead pastor of His House Ministries and president and CEO of The Hope Initiative based in Mayfield, shared his gratitude for the opportunity to dedicate a new home in Princeton.
