Princeton’s City Council has unanimously approved new trash pickup procedures for this fall and revised alcohol ordinances.
At Tuesday night’s meeting, Code Enforcement Officer Alan Getz shared that he had conducted some research regarding the fall furniture and large item pickup, similar to the spring event. He said he spoke with GFL on Monday afternoon, and they agreed to maintain the same flat rate from three years ago at $98.65 per ton.

click to download audioAfter discussion, Mayor Thomas requested a motion to advance the fall trash pickup project using reservations and inmate labor. The motion passed unanimously, 4-0, with Councilmen Carl Copeland and Brian Conger absent from the meeting.

During the discussion of the amended Alcoholic Beverage Control ordinance, Getz explained that it addresses caterers’ licenses and responsible beverage service training.

In other new business, Mayor Thomas declared the week of September 17th as Constitution Week, commemorating the 238th anniversary of the United States Constitution.
