A piece of Princeton’s past was lost Friday night when fire destroyed the historic Waveland home.
Princeton Fire Chief Brent Francis says about a dozen firefighters responded to the fire in the 700 block of West Locust Street around 11:35 p.m.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
According to local Historian Rick Blackburn, the historic Waveland home was built in 1834 by Dr. Thomas Logan McNary and his wife, Maria Louise Flournoy, whom he married in 1833.
