With dangerously cold temperatures forecast for Saturday night and continuing through the overnight hours Sunday, Caldwell County Emergency Management Director Joey McCaslin has announced that the Caldwell County Courthouse will be available as a warming center both on Saturday and Sunday on an as-needed basis.
Those seeking shelter should use the north door on Market Street. If the door is locked, McCaslin says to call Central Dispatch at (270) 365-7860 for assistance.
He says the courthouse will likely be open on Saturday and Sunday nights if temperatures drop below 27 degrees. McCaslin adds that residents experiencing any heating issues at home should also call (270) 365-7860 and the courthouse will be opened for a warming center.
