More than four years after the devastating December 2021 tornadoes, many Western Kentucky residents continue to face long-term financial and legal hurdles. To assist with the ongoing recovery, Kentucky Legal Aid is hosting a series of free clinics across 15 impacted counties, including Caldwell, to provide survivors with professional guidance.
Officials with the Kentucky Legal Aid say the clinics are designed to help residents navigate complex issues such as credit problems, debt, predatory lending, and identity theft. Legal professionals will be available to discuss options for bankruptcy and, in some cases, provide follow-up representation.
In addition to financial counseling, staff will help survivors establish or replace essential legal documents, including Living Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Last Will and Testaments.
The Caldwell County clinic is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the George Coon Public Library in Princeton.
To qualify for these services, participants must have resided in one of the tornado-impacted counties in December 2021 and meet Kentucky Legal Aid’s standard acceptance guidelines.
