Joy Watson, 96, of Princeton

Joy Elizabeth Watson, 96 of Princeton, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at her home.

She was born on February 5, 1930, in Caldwell, Kentucky, to her late parents, Dennie and Robbie Vinson.

Joy Watson was the oldest member of Donaldson Missionary Baptist Church. She was admired for her steady Christian example and lifelong devotion to the church. Joy attended Shady Grove School in her younger years and

later graduated from Fredonia School. Her wisdom, kindness, and strong values left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Joy especially enjoyed the simple traditions of country life, and she was well known for her love of canning, whether preserving vegetables from the garden or preparing homemade favorites for family. Above all, her faith

guided every part of her life. She treasured reading the Bible and faithfully read it through at least 50 times over the years, a reflection of her deep spiritual commitment and love for God’s word.

Joy is survived by one daughter, Sharon (Roy Gene) Rogers of Princeton; two sons, Stephen (Dee) Watson and David Watson, of Princeton; grandchildren, Beau (Lori) Rogers, Dawn Faulk, Brody (Haley) Rogers, Coley (Kaitlin) Rogers, Tate Rogers, and Denver Watson; great grandchildren are Paycen Rogers, Hadlie Rogers, Gatlin Rogers, Deacon Carter, Mallie Faulk, J.B. and Margaret Rogers, Ava Grace Rogers, and Ezra Lee Rogers

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Byron Watson; one sister, Jeanette Hutchins; and one brother, Charles Vinson.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Morgan’s Funeral Home with Coley Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Morse Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Morgan’s Funeral Home
