WPKY recently reported on the weekend Training Field Day held by the Princeton Ham Radio Club.
This training and their abilities help the Caldwell County Emergency Management Services during times of disasters and emergencies.
Club President Wesley Belt invites anyone interested in helping or becoming a member to contact them.

click to download audioCaldwell County Emergency Manager Joey McCaslin is also a member of the Princeton Ham Radio Club and knows the importance of working together to help make things safer for the community. He shared the county had recently been able to obtain a large amount of equipment to be used to work toward that goal.

click to download audioMcCaslin added that our local radio station, WPKY, works directly with Caldwell County Emergency Management to get local emergency information out to the community, and with the generator, information can be shared even if the power is out.
click to download audioMcCaslin shared they also have trailers available from the State of Kentucky that allow them to be mobile if needed to go out into the community.
click to download audioEach county in the State of Kentucky is required to have an emergency manager, and Joey McCaslin serves in that position for Caldwell County.
