Rural King Plans To Open New Store In Hopkinsville

South Western Kentucky Economic Development announced Saturday morning that Rural King is planning to open a new store in Hopkinsville, pending final negotiations and considerations of local incentives.
SWK EDC Executive Director Carter Hendricks said Rural King is planning a nearly $8 million redevelopment of the Bradford Square mall to be anchored by the new store. He added Rural King Real Estate will also work to fill the remaining redeveloped space with additional retail, restaurant, and entertainment businesses. Once complete, he said the investment is expected to create 170 full-time jobs with 55 positions associated with the new Rural King store.
Rural King Director of Real Estate, Blake Pierce said in a release that Hopkinsville is a market that they are really excited to serve their future and current customers. He went on to say the partnership with the City of Hopkinsville and Christian County gives Rural King the confidence to not only invest in a new store but to revitalize the entire mall.
Hopkinsville Mayor Wendell Lynch and Christian County Judge-Executive Steve Tribble both said they are appreciative of Rural King’s interest and investment in our community and revitalizing Hopkinsville’s mall, providing additional choices for regional residents which will have an impact on the community and entire region.
In 1960, Rural King started as a small, family-owned farm store in Mattoon, Illinois, and now is one of the fastest-growing family-owned companies in America with over 130 stores in a thirteen-state area.
All Rural King locations have a large variety of products, such as livestock supplies, clothing, hardware, and compact RK tractors from 19-74HP at select locations. To find more information about Rural King Supply and the products they carry, visit Ruralking.com or a Rural King store near you.
